Mike Hopper

Born in Bradford, Mike attended St. Bede's Grammar School and followed Bradford City with great enthusiasm. In 1964, he arrived at Christ's College, Liverpool, where he trained to be a teacher and subsequently spent 23 enjoyable years working in two Halewood High Schools.

In 1990, Mike left full-time teaching to set up his own publishing business, but at the same time, he also worked part-time in Primary education.

Mike was also a member of Liverpool Schools' FA for many years, ultimately in the role of Chief Administrative Officer. His involvement in the LSFA brought him into contact with Liverpool Football Club. He has supported the Reds ever since and is a season ticket holder.

For several years, Mike wrote a a weekly article on schools' football for the Merseymart Newspaper and, as a publisher, successfully produced countless brochures and journals for schools and shopping centres. Later, he moved on to constructing and maintaining websites for local schools, but has recently retired to concentrate on writing books.

In 2009 Mike was commissioned by Liverpool Hope University to write his first book The Pioneers of Christ's College and followed that by writing Arthur Lowe's best selling autobiography The Man With The Keys To The Bank of Anfield.
